Your Visa Guide to the SVRI Forum 2026

To support your preparations for a smooth and successful journey to SVRI Forum 2026, this guide provides information on the visa application process.

For the best chance of securing your visa, we encourage all delegates to follow the official instructions below.

Step 1: Confirm Whether You Need a Visa

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. You may be eligible for either Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival (VoA).

Please note that Visa on Arrival is permitted for short-term business activities; however, approval is at the discretion of Thai immigration officers and cannot be guaranteed.

Step 2: Recommended Visa Type

1. Tourist (MICE) Visa or TR-MICE

This is the official and preferred visa category for participation in SVRI FORUM 2026 and is designated for TCEB-supported conference attendees.

Please note that a “TCEB Welcome Letter” is required to apply under this category.

2. Tourist Visa or TR

If you do not have a TCEB Welcome Letter, you are advised to apply for a standard Tourist Visa (TR) category.

Important Notes:

• The Tourist (MICE) Visa is the official visa category designated for TCEB-supported conference attendees. Submitting a Tourist (MICE) Visa application without the TCEB Welcome Letter may result in rejection.
• Please note that the Embassy may consider issuing a different type of visa depending on the information provided by the applicant.

Step 3: Required Documents

When applying for your Tourist (MICE) Visa, you will need to prepare the following:

1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document (Must be valid within 6 months from travel date).
2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
3. Document indicating current location (driving license, bank statement, or proof of residence).
4. Travel booking confirmation: Flight itinerary showing entry to and departure from Thailand. The itinerary must clearly indicate the applicant’s name, travel dates, airports, and flight numbers.
5. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand.
6. Financial evidence: Proof of sufficient funds of no less than THB 20,000 (approximately USD 650): Bank statements for the past three months / or sponsorship letter accompanied by the sponsor’s bank statement.
7. TCEB Welcome Letter (required for Tourist (MICE) Visa applications). Applicants wishing to apply under the Tourist (MICE) Visa category must include the official TCEB Welcome Letter.

After completing your registration, please request the Welcome Letter from TCEB by emailing us at forums@svri.org and Jodi.Nefdt@mrc.ac.za and indicating “Request for TCEB Welcome Letter” in the subject line.

Step 4: Official Application Process

All applications for the Tourist (MICE) Visa must be submitted via the official Thai E-Visa platform:

1. Visit: https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
2. Follow the E-Visa Application User Manual or watch the VDO Guide
3. Under Visa Type section of the application form, select “Tourist (MICE) or TR-MICE”
4. Under the Purpose of Visit section, select

“Participants of MICE industry (Meeting, Incentives, Convention, Exhibitions) supported by TCEB (Thailand Convention Exhibition Bureau)”

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you have “TCEB Welcome Letter” ready when applying under TR-MICE category visa.

Complete the remaining steps as instructed in the system.

Timing & Processing

To ensure your visa covers the full duration of the Congress, we recommend submitting your application no earlier than 2 months and no later than 15 working days before your arrival in Thailand.

Visa processing usually takes around 5–20 working days, but it can vary. Some nationalities may experience longer processing times in certain cases. We recommend that applicants check with their local Thai Embassy or Consulate for country-specific details.

Please note that the final decision on visa issuance rests solely with the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country.

 

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

All travelers entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival. This online form collects entry and health declaration information.

The TDAC must be submitted within 3 days prior to your arrival in Thailand.

Compliance with Government Disease Prevention Measures

1. Travelers arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or Uganda are required to undergo quarantine or medical observation for 21 days. This requirement is mandated under the Communicable Disease Act B.E. 2558 (2015), effective from 21 May 2026.
2. Passengers arriving from Yellow Fever risk countries (listed below) may enter Thailand provided they submit an electronic Health Declaration Form prior to arrival.

Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, and Uganda

South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela

Travelers from the above-listed countries are required to complete the Health Declaration Form (T.8) for Entry into the Kingdom of Thailand HERE.
